CONGRATS! Hamilton Blues Great Harrison Kennedy to Receive European Blues Award
Shortly after earning 5 Maple Blues Award nominations, local Blues legend, Harrison Kennedy, found out he'll be getting the "prix Blues de l'Academie Charles Cros". The singer/songwriter told the Hamilton Spectator that the award is similar to getting a European Grammy for best blues album.
The prize will be handed out later in mid-November 2015. Unfortunately, Harrison won't be there to pick it up but he'll be sending a thank you video for the ceremony.
The Académie Charles-Cros is a French association founded in 1947 by music industry professionals. It was created to honor 19th century sound recording pioneer and poet Charles Cros.
It's wonderful seeing a local music veteran getting such prestigious international acclaim. Well deserved Harrison! CONGRATS!
