    Nominations for the 2024 Music Cities Awards (including Local and Canadian Nominees)

    The Music Cities Awards is a global competition designed to acknowledge and reward the most outstanding applications of music for economic, social, environmental, and cultural development in cities and places all around the world.

    Since its launch in 2020, the MCA’s have become a global showcase of the state of the art of projects using music to make cities better and a source of inspiration for those music advocates looking to create a positive impact in their communities.

    The Award Ceremony for the 2024 edition will take place on December 7th, on the opening day of the Riyadh Music Cities Convention, to be held in Saudi Arabia.

    Enter to Win Tickets to the Road to Memphis Fundraiser in Brantford


    Help our local musicians compete in the 2025 International Blues Challenge in Memphis and have an incredible musical experience at the same time.

    The Grand River Blues Society will be holding a rockin' fundraiser on Saturday, November 2 at the Brantford Polish Hall. The fun kicks off at 4pm.

    GRBS reps Big Dan Jeffares (band category) & Glenn Marais (solo/duo category) will be joined by the Fraidy Scats, Dwayne LaForme's Boogie Blues & The Jerome Godboo Band to make it an exciting night.

    Tickets are only $30 at the door or $25 in advance. GRBS and Escarpment Blues Society members will get a $5 rebate at the door. Click here to buy tickets.

    The City is excited to announce its 2024 St. Catharines Arts Awards nominees, recognizing some of the community’s most talented creatives and their supporters. These outstanding individuals and organizations will be honoured at a celebration on Nov. 3, 2024, at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (FOPAC). The Awards Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. in FOPAC’s Robertson Theatre.

    The City is presenting the 2024 St. Catharines Arts Awards in partnership with FOPAC. Tickets are free and can be reserved through the FOPAC box office at stcatharines.ca/ArtsAwardsTickets starting on Oct. 4 at 10 a.m.

    “We would like to extend a huge congratulations to our 2024 Arts Awards nominees, all of whom display remarkable passion and commitment to making the arts happen here in St. Catharines,” Culture Coordinator Ashley Judd-Rifkin said. “We can’t wait to celebrate the enormous contributions of these nominees.”

    From their website: The Stephen Lewis Foundation launched the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign in March 2006, in response to the emerging crisis faced by African grandmothers as they struggled to care for millions of children orphaned by AIDS.
