With Matthew de Zoete's latest disc, Colour Film, the local singer/songwriter has successfully branched out from acoustic grooves to a more electric sound.
Matthew hasn't sacrificed his song craft though. Each tune is wonderfully constructed lyrically and sonically.
In fact, the album is an amazing emotional ride: going from slow and sensitive, rockin', poppy and catchy and everything in-between. Throughout it all, the disc has a wonderful modern sound to it.
The album is available at his live shows, through cdbaby (download and CD) and also as a download on iTunes and eMusic.
Below are a few live performances of songs from the CD, courtesy of Matthew's YouTube Page
