A number of local artists made their hometowns proud at the Toronto Independent Music Awards on Friday, September 30, 2016.
Hidden Roots Collective (ft Hamilton's Annie Sumi) took home two prizes (Folk or Roots/Best Song (2nd Place). Waterdown's Emma Elena Grace won the Singer-Songwriter category. Tianna Woods from Burlington got the top spot for Country Artist and Port Colbourne's Extreme Flute received Best Instrumental or Classical.
