Today (June 3, 2024) would have been American Blues legend Jimmy Rogers' 100th birthday.

  • Born James Arthur Lane in New Ruleville, Mississippi (June 3, 1924)
  • Recorded as a harmonica player and singer for the Harlem record label (1946)
  • Joined the Muddy Waters band (1947)
  • Recorded That's Alright as a solo performer on Chess Records (1950)
  • Worked briefly with Howling Wolf (1960's)
  • First album (compilation of Chess recordings): Chicago Bound (1970)
  • Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame (1995)
  • Passed away on December 19, 1997
