Canadian Grammy Winners 2025


There was a lot of Canadian content at the 67th GRAMMY Awards that took place at the Crypto.com Arena (LA) on Sunday, February 2 and was broadcast live on CBS.

Canadian Nominees for the 2025 Grammys (including local artists)


The nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards were recently announced and quite a number of Canadian are in the running for the prestigious prize. 

In local news, Waterdown's Stony Plain Records have two albums up for the Best Traditional Blues Album categoryFabulous Thunderbirds - Struck Down (co-produced, co-written and guest starring Hamilton/Kitchener Bluesman Steve Strongman +  backing vocals by Chris Ayries (Hamilton) on 'Sideline') and Sue Foley: One Guitar WomanNothing In Rambling, a song from Fabulous Thunderbirds - Struck Down is also nominated for Best Americana Roots Performance.

The 67th GRAMMY Awards, will take be at the Crypto.com Arena (LA) on Sunday, February 2 and broadcast live on the CBS.

GOOD LUCK! Guelph's Del Bel Up For SOCAN Songwriting Prize! VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE!

Guelph/Toronto band Del Bel is one of the ten finalists for the 2015 SOCAN Songwriting Prize!  Their amazing tune In My Solitude, will be up for honour among nine other great tracks from around the country.  The cash prize will be $10,000 (doubled from last year).

Fans can help by voting for their favourites until July 1 2015, by going to www.socansongwritingprize.ca or via Twitter, (use the hashtag #mySSPvote and then artist’s name). Fans can vote once a day.  Winners will be announced July 6.

GOOD LUCK! Local Artists Receive Indie Award Nominations!


Once again, a number of talented local artists have received Indie Award nominations.

Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, featuring Hamilton's Tom Wilson, Guelph's Stephen Fearing and Toronto's Colin Linden) are up for the Folk/Roots category.  Other nominees from the Hammer include Whitehorse (Songwriter), Diana Panton (Jazz) and Caribou (Artist, Electronic Artist).

You+Me, the alt-folk duo featuring St. Catharines boy Dallas Smith (aka City and Colour) with international superstar P!nk, is in the running for both the Songwriter and Alternative categories. Also from St. Catharines, Tim Hicks was nominated for Best Country.

Hopefully they will be taking home some hardware on Saturday May 9th, 2015 when the awards are handed out at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto.  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
