Winners of the 2024 Canadian Country Music Awards


Winner for the 2024 Canadian Country Music Awards were announced on September 13 at an Industry Gala Dinner and a televised event on Saturday, September 14.

Below is a complete list of winner. Local musicians are bolded.

GOOD LUCK! Local 2019 Canadian Country Music Award Nominees


Many local areas are filled with hometown pride as some of their own were nominated for the 2019 CCMA Awards. You can watch the ceremony on Global TV where it'll be broadcast live from Calgary, AB on Sept. 8 at 9 p.m.

Peter Walker, the director for Hamilton's CHKX-FM is nominated for Music Director of the Year.

Burlington's Tebey is one of three local acts vying for Album of the Year and Producer of the Year with his co-producer Danick Dupelle.

St. Catharines Country superstar Tim Hicks is also up for Album of the Year as well as Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and the Fan's Choice Award. His bandmate Rob Wells, also from St. Catharines, received a nod for Drummer of the Year.

Cambridge duo the Reklaws have four nods to their credit: Album of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Video of the Year and the Fan's Choice Award. Another Cambridge boy, Rich DaSilva was nominated for Drummer of the Year.

Ben Knechtel, who directed videos for Tim Hicks and the Reklaws is up for Video Director of the Year.

Brantford's Linsey Beckett earned a nod for Fiddle Player of the Year. Also from Brantford, Doug Johnson is up for steel Guitar Player of the Year.

Down Waterloo way, member of the Western Swing Authority are getting a lot of recognition.  Shane Guse is nominated for Specialty Instrument Player of the Year. Paul Chapman is up for Guitarist of the Year and Jason Barry's Barrytone Studios is in the running for Recording Studio of the Year.

    GOOD LUCK! Local Canadian Country Music Award Nominees!


    The 2018 Canadian Country Music Award nominations were unveiled recently and a number of local luminaries have been given the nod. Here's hoping a few of them will be taking home the hardware on September 9, 2018. The icing on the cake is that this year, the incredible event will be hosted by Hamilton!

    Hammertown's own Chris Altmann is up for Steel Guitar Player of the Year. Peter Walker, the music director's for Hamilton's CHKX-FM was nominated for Music Director of the Year (Large Market).

    In the neighbouring city of Burlington, hometown boy Tebey is in the running for Record Producer of the Year for the work on his own album, Love a Girl.

    Down the road apiece, there's St. Catharines country superstar Tim Hicks, who's up for the Fans' Choice Award. Gavin Michael Booth, the director of his video Slide Over is nominated for Video Director of the Year. The group behind his Loud single is in the running for Creative Team of the Year.

        GOOD LUCK! Local 2017 Canadian Country Music Association Award Nominations


        This year's Canadian Country Music Award Association Award nominees were recently announced and it once again boasted a number of area musicians in the mix.

        St. Catharines country boy, Tim Hicks can't seem to stop being nominated and winning awards and he's continued on here.  Tim's up for 3 categories (Male Artist of the Year, Interactive Artist or Group of the Year and Recording Package of the Year)

        Cambridge songstress, Shae Dupuy is running against Tim for Interactive Artist or Group of the Year as well. Also from that city is Rich DaSilva (Drummer of the Year).

        The Waterloo area is also teeming with nominees thanks to Shane Guse (Fiddle Player of the Year, Special Instrument Player of the Year) and Jimmy Boudreau (Drummer of the Year). Both are from the group, Western Swing Authority . Barrytone Studios (also from the Waterloo region) received a nod for Recording Studio of the Year.
