Mini-Review: The world is constantly chaging and Hamilton's Kyle Pacey reflects that in his poignant new EP, After the Fall. With genre-blending precision, Kyle weaves between pessimism, optimism, hope and disaster. Emotional storytelling and innovative sonic landscapes take listeners on an almost philosophical journey.
In his early years, he was an audio technician for many bands and worked as a roadie and soundman for Crowbar. In fact, he had said that Crowbar frontman Kelly Jay was the one who encouraged him to take up acting.
Love and miss you Graham Greene, I am going to miss seeing you pop up in new shows and movies, getting excited and messaging you. Thank you so much for being there for me, our chats and for gifting me that necklace at dads funeral where we got to place the necklace with dad together. Going to miss getting to chat with you and your birthday wishes. ❤ I hope you and Kelly Jay are up there catching up and having a smile today~ Love and miss you tons, Rest in Peace, Graham Greene
A part of Possum Lodge has gone quiet. We're tipping our maneuver's caps to the memory of Graham Greene, who gave us the explosive Edgar Montrose. His presence was always a blast, and he left us with more laughs than a barrel of dynamite.
Very sad to note the passing of Graham Greene. So glad we were able to get together with him last year. In his early days in the entertainment business Graham worked as part of the crew that travelled with us on the road throughout the States and Canada when I toured with the Magic Bubble.
Graham Greene was truly one of one. From working together to becoming immediate friends, he was a working man’s Hollywood trailblazer and a Canadian through and through. He didn’t really care what people thought of him—a rarity in this industry—but he deeply cared about those he loved. He was spiritual, loved to tell an inappropriate joke, and couldn’t care less about “the scene.”
“They send me somewhere, I get paid, and then I get the hell out.” That was a Grahamism.
His stories about being a bouncer and a working man’s man were almost more important to him than his big movie stories—and he had plenty of those, too. I’ll miss his random calls (they could come at any hour, about truly anything), his humor, his spiritual nature, his toughness, his kindness, and how damn much I learned from him.
The last time we talked, a few weeks ago, was a call I will never forget. Like Graham himself, it was one of one.
I’ll miss you, Graham. Thank you for being you. I’ll never think of a cab ride the same way, and I’ll always look for that bird.
Award-winning Hamilton artist Kyle Pacey is back with a new fabulous musical collection: Road Songs. He's turned up the soul on this one without sacrificing any of the rockin' energy Kyle's known for. There's also an extra funky vibe on a few tracks.
In only 5 tunes, Kyle and the gang inject the songs with enough grooves and jazzy bits for two full albums. Kyle's unmistakable voice proclaims his victorious return as his guitar punches through with dexterity and skill.
Recordings from Grammy-Nominated Hamilton Singer/SongwriterKyle Paceyare an all too rare occurrence. Luckily, he recently released an amazing album that's well worth the wait. So Close, his latest collection, features him at his best. Brimming with rocking, high-stepping tunes, the CD is a high-caliber affair. Blues, rock, jazz, swing, folk and more blend together with Kyle's unique voice to create an impressive mix of powerful tunes.
One thing you won't find a lot of on Edgar Breau's latest CD, patches of blue is repetition. The local singer/songwriter covers a whole lot of ground in just 12 songs.
While mainly known as a member of the proto-punk/psych band, Simply Saucer, his solo endeavors are more on the rootsier side. Edgar explores all aspects of the genre: folk, country, blues, celtic, and much more. Every single song has a unique spirit.
Highlights include the trippy title track, the funky One Kind of Love, the wonderfully folky Dreams of Jack Kerouac, and the island sounds of Maria the Sea and the Sun.Joining Edgar in his musical explorations are Mike Trebilcock, Kyle Pacey, Bill Dillon, members of Trickbag (Michael Hickey, Paul Panchezak), Joe Clark, Brian Griffith, Ed Roth, Simply Saucer bassist Kevin Christoff, and Michael Birthelmer (who also produced).
The CD is available at his live shows as well as cdbaby and as downloads on eMusic, iTunes, and cdbaby.
