Burlington rockers, Walk Off The Earth made their hometown proud by bringing home the Group of the Year trophy at the 2016 Junos on April 3, 2016. It was the band's first Juno win! They joined the winner's circle with local stars Harrison Kennedy and Whitehorse, who won during Saturday's Juno gala.

The year's biggest winner was Toronto R&B sensation, the Weeknd, who earned five awards: Artist, Album, Songwriter, Soul/R&B, Single (for Can't Feel My Face). Other multiple winners included the legendary Buffy Sainte-Marie (Aboriginal Album, Contemporary Roots Recording) and pop star Justin Bieber (Pop Album, Fan Choice).
