The self-titled debut album from Georgetown indie-folk duo Mountain and the Wood was recorded live off the floor and you can tell. Superbly recorded, listeners can feel the wood and the wire meshing in an organic, beautiful musical experience.
The haunting vocals and stirring lyrics shape the sonic landscape into a sometimes fragile but always powerful sound. Armed with guitar, violin, viola and mandolin, the duo create warm, emotional songs.
If you'd like a copy of this wonderful disc, you can pick one up at their live shows or contact the duo at mountainandthewood@gmail.com. It's also available through their Bandcamp page.
