Today (March 21, 2024) would have been American Blues legend Otis Spann's 100th birthday (depending on which source you believe).

- March 21, 1924 (or 1930): Born James in Mississippi (Jackson or Belzoni depending on the records)
- Moved to Chicago (1946)
- Became Muddy Waters' piano player (1952)
- Work on albums with Chuck Berry (1950's)
- Released solo single "It Must Have Been the Devil" with B.B. King and Jody Williams (1954)
- Released debut solo album Otis Spann is the Blues (1960)
- Worked on albums by Buddy Guy, Big Mama Thornton, Peter Green, and Fleetwood Mac (late 1960's)
- Passed away in 1970.
