GOOD LUCK! 2017 Niagara Music Award Nominees!


On Sunday, September 24, 2017, the Niagara Music Awards will celebrate ten wonderful years of showcasing the amazing talent in the area.  This must see event takes place at Greg Frewin Theatre.

 This year's nominees were unveiled a little while back and, as always, they feature some of the most amazing music anywhere. Brad Battle, Mel Monaco and Mark James Vaiana lead the pack with 5 nominations each!

      GOOD LUCK! 2016 Niagara Music Award Nominations


      Tuesday, September 27, 2016 will be a big night for the Niagara region.  The 9th Annual Niagara Music Awards takes place at Battlefield Centre (United Church) and there'll be a huge celebration of the local music scenes.

      Nominations were release a while back and the top nominee was Thorold singer/songwriter Cory Cruise with 8 nods.  St Catharines Rockers Savour The Moment are second with 7 nominations.

      CONGRATS! Niagara Music Award Winners


      The Niagara region's best musical talent were celebrate on September 29, 2015 at Taps Brewery.   The 8th Niagara Music Awards were handed out the area's favourite artists.  The big winners were Roots performer Steve Goldberger and Folk group Odds and Ends, who took home 3 awards that night.

      Roots musician Steve Goldberger was nominated for a whopping 8 nominations.  New band Odds and Ends
       follow closely behind with 7.

      CONGRATS! 2015 Hamilton Music Industry Award Winners (Including Us!)


      The Hamilton Blues Lovers website was only one of the many winners in the 2015 Hamilton Music Industry Awards.  Many deserving members of the local music community were recognized on May 23, 2015 at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts.

      Lou, our blogger had this to say: "Thank you to all my fellow nominees who help get the word out about the amazing Hamilton music scene and thanks to all the amazing musicians.  It is an honour to receive this award."

      The big winner of the day was classical musician Strat Andriotis, who earned three awards.

      The night was also special because of the late, great Brian Griffith, who won the Guitarist of the Year Award.  His son accepted the award on his behalf.  Many of the speakers paid tribute to this amazing musician.  There were many touching moments.

      Hamilton Music Industry Awards Nominees Announced - Including One for This Blog!


      Nominees for the Hamilton Music Industry Awards were recently unveiled and this very blog received our first nod!  Many of the best and brightest that the Hammer has to offer were recognized for their wonderful work.  Winners will be announced on May 23, 2015 during a ceremony at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts.

      Hamilton's BrYan SorensEn Groove Trio Mix DJ Beats Into Funky Gold


      Stealing from the DJ is the perfect name for the latest EP from Hamilton's  BrYan SorensEn Groove Trio.  They take usually over-polished DJ beats and spice them up with some nasty funk and soul!

      If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path, this is the recording for you!  The gang twist and turn the electronic beats into something truly unique.  Songs receive an  injection of  the energy and power of a live rock show (most of the album was recorded live off the floor) into their infectious electronic sound.

      Members of the talented trio inclide Bryan Sorensen (vocals, guitar), John Becker (bass) and Rich Hone (drums).  Every one manages to show off of their considerable skills.
