New Album from Hamilton's Ginger St. James Packed with High Energy Boogie and Sultry Swagger!

Hamilton musical sensation Ginger St. James has always had a lot of country and a ton of rock in her soul.  Her high-energy boogie and sultry swagger tear through some amazing songs on her latest album, One for the Money (her first for Busted Flat Records)

Ginger St. James and the Grinders' New CD, Diesel and Peas is Raucous, Saucy and Dynamic!

      https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/diesel-and-peas/id879144004

Binbrook gal, Ginger St. James and her band, the Grinders, have unleashed another amazing CD filled with dynamic, saucy grooves. Diesel and Peas, the lady's latest disc, is brimming with her trademark raucous spirit.

With a country girl soul and a jazz diva's sultry heart, she fuses her influences into an extremely explosive sound. Swing, Blues and lots o' Rockabilly are also on the menu. Her powerful pipes are at home in any genre.

As for the Grinders, they do an incredible job of keeping the groove and adding much flair to the proceedings.  The band includes guitarist (and producer) Snow–Heel Slim, Greg Brisco on keyboards, Pete Sisk on bass and drummer Andre Tellier.

Go ahead and pick up your copy at the band's superb shows or download it on iTunes.

Performer of the Week: Snow-Heel Slim

Hamilton's Snow-Heel Slim is definitely unique. With his incredible band, the Boogie Infection, he plays rockabilly and blues but with more of a raw/almost punk edge. If you're looking for something different, you should check him out.

Slim's also the guitar player for Ginger St. James' band, the Grinders.

There isn't much about Slim online but he let's his music do the talking.

New Ginger St. James and the Grinders CD: Spank, Sparkle and Growl

If you've ever seen Ginger St. James live, you know the sultry songstress does it all: blues, swing, country, rockabilly and more. Her debut CD EP (with the Grinders), Spank Sparkle & Growl is a reflection of her diverse talent.

While most of the six songs in this collection lean toward the lounge/swing sound (Swing About You, Boom Boom Room, Don't Deceive Me), there are elements of rockabilly (Lonely Cryin' Blues, Devil Dance), and pop (Lullaby).

The Grinders - (Snow-heel Slim: guitar, Tyrone Ramsey: upright bass, Greg Brisco: keys, and Andre Tellier: drums) play with a lot of energy and deliver a rockin' beat to back up Ginger's wonderful vocals.

The CD is available at her shows.

Below are some live performances of songs from this CD.
