- Born William John Clifton Haley in Highland Park, Michigan (July 6, 1925)
- 1st performance: Bethel Junior baseball event, (he was 13 years old) (1938)
- Formed Bill Haley's Saddlemen (1949)
- The Saddlemen were renamed Bill Haley and His Comets (1952)
- Released Crazy Man, Crazy, considered to be the first Rock N Roll record by many. (1953)
- Released his biggest hit Rock Around the Clock (1954)
- Rock Around the Clock was re-released and became a number 1 hit (July 9, 1955)
- First rock act on the Ed Sullivan Show (August 7, 1955)
- Starred in Rock Around the Clock, the first rock musical film. (March 21, 1956)
- Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1960)
- Performed for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Performance (November 26, 1979)
- Passed away at age 55 (February 9, 1981)
- Inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (1987)
- The Comets inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (2012)
