HBL provides FREE services in support of of our musical community. Would you like to see your events listed in the HBL blog, newsletters and social media pages, get your recordings reviewed, and be on our performer and venue lists?

Here's how:

RULES: Events MUST be in the Hamilton, Halton, Niagara, Brant, Waterloo, Wellington, Norfolk or Woodstock area (sorry, we don't cover Toronto). Performers and venues must be from those regions as well. Please note that we cover Blues, Roots, Folk, Americana, Classic Rock, Jazz, Soul and Country genres.

How can I get my event(s) on your calendar?

We have one of the most extensive online event calendars in the area.

First, check if we already have your event listed already: Click here to see our calendar. 

There are two ways to inform us:
Please try to give at least one week's notice, if possible. The more notice, the better.
 We also have a Open Mic, Open Stage and Jam Page you can be included in.

We reserve the right to refuse to list an event.

How can I get my recording reviewed?

RULES: No singles - just EPs and albums.

This is just our mailing address, please do not come in to speak to the Hamilton Blues Lovers. Include an email address for us to contact you. We cannot return CDs.

How can I get included in the Performer/Venue List?

Our Performer and Venue lists are also very extensive.

Check our existing ones to make sure you are not already on it.  If not, please email us a link to your website at and mention which category/area you'd like to be placed in.

We reserve the right to refuse to add listings.

How do I run a contest through you? Get more promotion!

Our readers are all local music fans and we love to offer them contests for free tickets and CDs.

If you run a contest through us, all we ask for is at least two tickets to your events or 1 CD/download code to give away. We do not mail out tickets or CDs but we will email you with winners names and/or mailing addresses.

During the contest, we'll give your event/recording extra promotion with:
  • A dedicated blog post
  • Advertising space on our blog during the contest
  • Special mentions on social media
  • Inclusion in our weekly newsletter
  • Much more.
