On November 10, 2023 the Grammys announced their 2024 nominees. As always, a number of our fellow Canadian were on the esteemed list, including area artist Deadmau5 from Niagara Falls.
Hopefully, a number of them will bring some awards home when the 2024 GRAMMYs air live on Sunday, February 4,2023 on CBS and Paramount+.

The late, great Hamilton folk legend Stan Rogers is in the running for the 1976-1985 category for his classic Fogarty’s Covealbum.
Another hammertown veteran, Daniel Lanois, has his debut Acadielisted in the 1986-1995 section. Also 2112by Rush, the world-renowned power trio featuring Hamilton-born Neil Peart on drums is up for the 1976-1985 category
The Band, the legendary ground featuring members from the Norfolk area was nominated for their classic album Music From Big Pink(1960-1975 category)
Peter Moore, a Hamilton native, made his hometown proud by winning a Grammy on February 15, 2016 in Los Angeles. The recording he helped engineer, Bob Dylan: The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11, won the Best Historical Album category. He shared the accolades with Jan Haust (from London, ON), Steve Berkowitz, Jeff Rosen and Mark Wilder.
The six-CD collection features recently discovered 1967 recordings of Dylan and the Band. They were found in a locker of the Band's Garth Hudson. Peter assisted with restoring the amazing performances for all to hear.
Well, CBC has finally finished its 100 Best Canadian Songs Everlistby revealing numbers1-25 earlier this week. Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now took top honours. Unfortunately, no local musicians were included this time. A few made it on the previous lists though. See below for more.
