GOOD LUCK! Vote for Local Artists in the 2018 Music Express Awards!


The popular Canadian digital music magazine, the Music Express is currently doing a poll for their 2018 Awards. A few local artists are in the running so we encourage you to vote.  We're not quite sure when the deadline is so please vote soon.

Hamilton Bluesman Jack de Kezyer is up for two categories (Top Blues Artist and Top Blues Album).

Blue Rodeo, which now has Hamilton's Colin Cripps in its lineup is nominated for Top Live Act - Concert Hall/Club Venue.

Downchild (who have members from Brantford and Niagara) is also nominated in both Blues categories.

GOOD LUCK! St. Catharines' Tim Hicks and Kitchener's Helix Nominated for 2017 Music Express Awards! VOTE! Deadline Feb 9!


St. Catharines singer/songwriter, Tim Hicks has been nominated in two categories (Top Canadian Country Artist and Top Record Album - Country) for the 2017 Music Express Awards. This may  be another great win in a long line of 'em for the superstar. Also, Kitchener Hard Rock band Helix is up for the Back In The Spotlight award for their recent resurgence.

GOOD LUCK GUYS!

The highest number of nominations went to Shawn Mendes, Drake and Meghan Patrick, who received 4 each. Canadian legends, the Tragically Hip were also represented with three nods on top of singer Gord Downie's two nominations for his vocals and recent solo album.

    GOOD LUCK! Area Musicians Up For 2016 Music Express Awards! VOTE FOR THEM NOW!


    Canadian Music Website MusicExpress.ca will be dishing out their own awards soon and a few area musicians have been nominated.  Readers can also can also vote for their faves by clicking here. Deadline is Feb 16, 2016.

    St. Catharines Country singer Tim Hicks might soon be adding more to his big award collection since he's up for Top Country Album (5:01) and Top Country Artist.  Also from the same city, alt-folk sensation City and Colour is up for Top Record Album (Pop/Rock) and Top Male Vocalist (Dallas Green)

    Hammertown rockers, Arkells have a chance to win Top Live Act (Small Venue). Burlington's Walk Off the Earth is also in the running for Top Record Album (Pop/Rock).  Hard rockin' Burlington boys Finger Eleven were given the nod for the Back In The Spotlight award.  Canadian superstars Blue Rodeo (now featuring Hamilton boy Colin Cripps on guitar) are nominated for Top Canadian Group and Top Live Act (Arena/Concert Hall)
