Hamilton Canadiana musician J.P. Riemens released his wonderful CD, Love is a Dog in 2009. Unfortunately, it is currently out of print but may be available through JP.
Recently, Hamilton veteran Bluesman, Paul Coombs released two wonderful albums: Paul's Blues (solo) and Steeltown Blues (with his band). Each release shows a different side of him and they're both great additions to his fabulous body of work.
Paul's Blues is a ragged, stripped down, raw affair. Throughout the album, Paul's voice boasts the power of a fire-and-brimstone preacher. His sermons are street-level stories and cautionary tales punctuated by incredible guitar work. You can feel the grittiness in every tune.

Another musical side is apparent on Steeltown Blues from the Paul Coombs Blues Band . While still down-to-earth lyrically, the group creates a full sound packed with energy. They add some flourishes of country, funk, jazz and more. It's working class music to get ya jumpin'.

Ensemble is a music-based TV show on Cable 14 Hamilton that features four singer/songwriters per episode.
The show runs on Saturdays at 10pm and Sundays at 9pm. There is a new episode each month or so. You can also watch the program online with their live feed if you are a Cogeco, Shaw, or Source Cable subscriber.
One thing you won't find a lot of on Edgar Breau's latest CD, patches of blue is repetition. The local singer/songwriter covers a whole lot of ground in just 12 songs.
While mainly known as a member of the proto-punk/psych band, Simply Saucer, his solo endeavors are more on the rootsier side. Edgar explores all aspects of the genre: folk, country, blues, celtic, and much more. Every single song has a unique spirit.

Hamilton singer/songwriter Kim Lister's new CD, Can You Imagine? is filled with catchy songs, incredible vocals, and a lot of variety.
From the country sounds of Be My Baby Tonight, the blues boogie of Trouble, to the tender rhythms of Orphan and Same Old Me, this disc has a lot to offer. Pop, jazz, folk, country, rock and more keep the album fresh and unique.
Kim is backed up by Michael Birthelmer, who plays guitar on most tracka and co-produces the CD. Trickbag's Paul Panchezak (drums) and Michael Hickey (bass) also lend a hand on many tunes.
