“Every music school teaches singing, guitar, drums, etc,” she explained, “We’ve decided to think outside the box with classes that’re a bit more unique.”

Hamilton Blues Lovers' 1st Musical Theatre Production

The Hamilton Blues Lovers are getting into the musical theatre business and we’re kicking it off with a masterpiece! Writer/director Trebleclef has a sure-fire sensation in his hot little paws: Treeside Story. It’s an extremely unique tale of love between members of two feuding gangs: chipmunks and squirrels. The show follows the romance of Romero and Julie, star-crossed lovers whose forbidden relationship causes friction within their groups.

Treble wrote many future hit tunes for our inaugural production.  When You’re a Squirrel, I Feel Nutty and Springtime for Chipmunks will have people dancing in the aisles. Treeside Story will debut early next year at the Shecky McGillicutty Memorial Concert Theatre.

Lou (show producer and HBL blogger) is very optimistic about the project’s chances. “Our accountant Leo Bloom is a financial genius”, Lou explained, “Together, we got 50% of the funding from Luigi’s Nut Hut, 50% from the Gullible Old Widows Association and the final 50% from Bubba’s Used Underwear Emporium.”

Casting director April Fulcilli recently announced that open auditions will begin next week. All chipmunks and squirrels who can sing and dance are encouraged to come. Sponsor Luigi’s Nut Hut will be providing the refreshments (and supplying the performer payment).

We’ll keep you updated with details of this world-class production. Soon, we’ll be Broadway-bound!

Hamilton Blues Lovers Turns 12!

Today (November 29, 2020), the Hamilton Blues Lovers turn 12 years old! A WHOLE DOZEN!

As you all know it has been a rough year with COVID-19 causing a stop to in-person live music for a long time. A few of our communities still cannot hold music events. Here is a link on how to help musicians during this difficult time.

This was also the year we decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of local albums. We've only done two so far but will be doing more by year's end.

News Roundup (Jeannie Ingrassia Passes, Terra Lightfoot w Jim Cuddy, Brodie Dakin, Harbourtown Sound, Bev Munro Passes)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannie Ingrassia, an integral member of the Guitar Clinic in Hamilton. She passed away on April 11, 2018. Our condolences to her friends and family.

We are currently looking for a picture of Jeannie to post here. Please email us at blueshamilton@gmail.com if you have one to send to us.

Lily Sazz (Cootes Paradise)
When I took my first band there to rehearse 4 days a week as we prepared to launch, she wouldn't accept any payment until we'd had our first gig. That was just the beginning of many years of friendship, support and encouragement. I was always super happy to see her whenever we connected.
Chris Church (former employee)
The guitar clinic was my first job when I was 17 fixing amps and pedals Jeannie was super nice to me always she had a wicked sense of humour she always made sure I had a good lunch to eat.. at Rosas bakery. She was a warm intelligent woman who did not take any shit I will miss her. She was a super nice person everyone who worked at the clinic had respect for her everyone liked her. She was a mom to all of us guys that worked there at the time. R.I.P
Jason Colavecchia (Smoke Wagon Blues Band)
Jeannie allowed me to make payments over a year to help me pay for my 1st six string F-bass. Without that help, I would not have evolved into the musician I am today.
Christina Ingrassia (daughter)
She loved the people that came through the door of the Clinic, & she really did enjoy helping people, she was a true music lover; music all the time, at home, in the car. She was even singing & groovin' right up until the end.
